Senior Java Developer – Richmond, North Yorkshire

thecitysecret has an opening for a Java Professional to join a well-established Software Engineering team working with a Tier One Investment bank. This is a great opportunity to be involved in large enterprise level projects for an International client whilst having the benefit of working for a small company. This role is based at our Richmond, North Yorkshire office.

The successful candidate will work on a number of challenging projects in the Equity Swap's area. Focus will be on server-side core Java development, using Spring, MQ, Apache CXF with DB2, Sybase and MongoDB.


- Working alongside a development team to design and implement software solutions in Java
- Deploying solutions in a highly distributed Linux plant
- Providing level 3 support


The successful applicant will be working on distributed Java systems on Linux and must be able to demonstrate excellent skills in the following key areas:-

- Java
- Unix/Linux
- SQL/Database knowledge
- Problem Solving
- Eager to learn
- Self sufficient
- Excellent communication skills

Previous experience within the finance industry would be beneficial, but don't worry if you don't have any as full financial training will be given.
