thecitysecret are expanding and are looking to recruit an Apprentice Software Developer to join our Development team in Richmond, North Yorkshire.

Working with the tech team the Apprentice Software Developer will be working on a variety of development projects for our small business clients.  The projects will cover a range of technologies and include website development, software automation projects and bespoke application development. 

The apprentice’s formal learning will be supported by further on the job learning. This will include working on internal development projects and shadowing more experienced team members.

The Apprentice Software Developer will also work with the IT Support team, gaining an understanding of computer hardware & networking and infrastructure.

With the merger of some financial institutions and the crash of the financial market in 2008, development work within Finance reduced.  There was a change in the business in 2016 where the owner stepped away from the business, passing ownership to the employees.  

In 2017 thecitysecret started working with local business creating bespoke applications for businesses and have continued to do so since building an excellent working relationship with the local community.

thecitysecret have experience in both development and IT support from supporting the architecture within the business. In 2018 we increased our offering to also provide local IT support for businesses.

Apprenticeship Qualification: Software Development Technician – Level 3

Work Hours: 37.5 hours per week.  Monday – Friday 08:30 – 17:00.

Pay: £4.40/hour (£8,580 per annum)

Holiday entitlement: 25 days (plus UK Bank holidays)

Future Prospects: There may be an opportunity to progress on to a level 4 qualification on successful completion of the level 3 programme.
