Java Developer – join our Team !

We are looking for a Java Developer to join our small Software Engineering team working on a project for a Tier One Investment bank. This is a great opportunity to be involved in large enterprise level projects whilst having the benefit of working for a small company. 

The successful candidate will work on a number of challenging projects in the Equity Swap’s area. They will be working on distributed Java systems on Linux and must be able to demonstrate excellent commercial development skills in core java. Focus will be on server-side core Java development, using Spring, Message Queue, DB2, Sybase and MongoDB. We don’t expect applicants to have knowledge or experience of all of these technologies, but strong core Java Development experience is required.

What Skills are required?

  • Working alongside a development team to design and implement software solutions in Java 
  • Deploying solutions in a highly distributed Linux plant 
  • Providing level 3 support 

Previous experience within the finance industry is not required.  

Salary & Benefits:

  • Salary £45,000-£48,000 (Dependent on experience)
  • 25 days annual holiday (Plus UK Bank Holidays)

This role is based at thecitysecret office in Richmond, North Yorkshire. Due to the current climate the successful applicant may be required to work from home if restrictions are still in place.  Occasional working from home is available for staff but it is dependent on the business needs and customer requirements. 

Commutable from: Northallerton, Thirsk, Darlington, Barnard Castle, Durham, Middlesbrough, Newton Aycliffe, the Yorkshire Dales, Teesside, Co. Durham.
